Altan in the Netherlands
Altan hit
the road again in their seemly endless World tour. They arrive in Holland
on November 4th and return to Ireland in Mid November to finish off a
grueling schedule which has to have them up there now with the World's
hardest touring traditional Irish band. The band currently have the Best
of Altan available in the US from Narada and The Blue Idol is still selling
very well worldwide.
In the next few weeks we will have news of the Frankie
Kennedy Winter School which takes place in Altan's home county of Donegal.

proud that the young musician of the year for 2003 is Mairead's

Other Acts - Lunasa
Altan make their first
appearance at the William Kennedy Festival of Piping which
has been presided over by the indefatigable Brian and Eithne
Vallely for the last ten years. Brian and Eithne are among
the many unsung heroes of traditional music having devoted
a large part of their lives to the teaching and promotion of
Irish music. They've reared a few good musicians themselves too.
One of their musical sons Cillian is the piper with the wonderful
band Lunasa who join us on the bill tonight. |
