Altan hit the road again in their seemly endless World tour. They arrive in Holland on November 4th and return to Ireland in Mid November to finish off a grueling schedule which has to have them up there now with the World's hardest touring traditional Irish band. This is the annual TG4 Traditional Music Awards Show and the list of worthy winners is included above. TG4 is Ireland 's Irish language national television station and they have presided over these awards for a number of years now. WeAltan were honoured to be presented with an award from them a few years ago and now are delighted to perform here and not a little proud that the young musician of the year for 2003 is Mairead's nephew Ciaran O Maonaigh.

Sunday 16th November

Other Acts - Lunasa

Altan make their first appearance at the William Kennedy Festival of Piping which has been presided over by the indefatigable Brian and Eithne Vallely for the last ten years. Brian and Eithne are among the many unsung heroes of traditional music having devoted a large part of their lives to the teaching and promotion of Irish music. They've reared a few good musicians themselves too. One of their musical sons Cillian is the piper with the wonderful band Lunasa who join us on the bill tonight.
