Eileen Ivers - Still moving
Eileen IversI have written about Eileen Ivers many times in the past but I keep having to update things as she never stops. If it isn't another great album, it's a new project where she is off playing with Riverdance or the Chieftains or heading a big orchestra. This time though she is quite simply doing what she does best, play on stage with her amazing band.

When you join a band like Immigrant Soul you have to have a little clue that you might be required to travel. Eileen works her boys hard and it pays off in the polished shows and great recordings.

The fiery and lovely Bronx raised Irish lass has been taking the traditional Irish and contemporary music world by storm for many years and not letting any sort of musical boundaries or cultural differences restrict what she plays. Her roots of course are Irish but an Eileen Ivers show can take you from a rake of reels to a Calypso and then into a ballad that will break your heart.

She has the help of a group of the finest musicians there are and they keep the music fresh and the pace frenzied in every show I have had the pleasure of seeing her.

So now you know and have no excuse for missin g any of her shows for the rest of the year. Here are Eileen's tour dates up until Christmas

I also want to add a special appearance by Eileen tomorrow night November 12th in New York 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at SIN-E, 148-150 Attorney Street (between Houston & Stanton): Subway - J, M, Z or F to Lower East Side/2nd Ave or Delancey St. This is for the Northern Ireland Women's Inititive and the suggested donation for this event has been reduced to $25 to get in. It's well worth it so get along and have some fun.
