Welcome to yet another episode of Across The Pond. Can you believe that this is Episode 35 already? Again this week we have some great music from England, Ireland, Denmark and of course the good old U.S of A. On the show this week music from Rita Eriksen from Denmark, our own Christy Moore, the great John McCusker and many more.
I am very excited this week though. As you know I moved to Suwanee Georgia a few months back and am so happy that I now live a few minutes from one of the best venues in America. It is a simple but beautiful places called the Bluegrass Barn. You have heard me talk about it on the show a few times and I love being in that venue. The Everett Brothers themselves are well worth going to see at the venue. They are accomplished musicians and Roger has become one of my favorite singers in the bluegrass world. Maybe one day soon I might get a chance to sit down and record my radio show at the Barn.
But this week I am extra excited because Claire Lynch will be playing there. Claire and her band are riding hight on some well deserved success right now and I can't wait to hear her live again. When Andrea Zonn and I were make the Hands Across The Water cd we really wanted to have Claire on the record but it just didnt happen for us. Maybe on the next one. This Saturday night though, I will be quietly sitting on a church pew down at the back of the Bluegrass Band to hear Claire sing and play. Why not join me?
