The Grand Ole Oprah
If you haven't heard of Ryan Holladay trust
me you will. Even if you are not a bluegrass fan you have to agree this
kid is incredible.
He had already made a name for himself as the youngest
performer on the Grand Ole Opry at the age
of 5 and has appeared on it again many times since. Now at the ripe old
age of 11 he just made his debut on national daytime television with
an appearance on the Oprah
Winfrey Show. The appearance was part of a show called The
World's Most Talented Kids and Ryan performed Shuckin
the Corn from his own latest
project Old Soul.
Also
appearing on the program were pop singer Mandy
Moore, hip hop artist
Bow Wow and many other talented kids from
all over the world. I am not sure when this episode will be shown in
Ireland and Europe so check your local listing there.
Ryan is heading
into the studio soon as well to work on a new album called Ryan
Holladay and Friends which will feature many well known Country and Bluegrass
artists. I can't wait. It is just another bit of proof, as if we needed
any, that Bluegrass is in the safe hands of all generations and will
be around as long as music itself.
